US$550 MILLION IN RELIGIOUS PRODUCT SALES PER MONTH IN BRAZIL

"Estimated gospel sales amount to one billion reais per month,"reports Breve Venho, a Christian news portal in Brazil, citing figures from MK Music and the Brazilian record producers association, Associação Brasileira de Produtores de Disco. This translates to approximately US$550 million each month in all channels and across all product categories, from music to apparel to books.

This upbeat market sets the stage for this year's gathering of ChristianTrade nation member Associação Nacional das Livrarias Evangélicas, or ANLE, the national association of Christian bookstores in Brazil.

"On 22 and 23 April," says Andre Santos, director of ANLE, "we will have our annual ANLE convention in Rio de Janeiro."  About 200 bookstores are expected to come to the event.
